Stolen Bell Distillery
CASE STUDY
Challenge
Stolen Bell is a boutique craft distillery nestled beside the Kicking Horse River in Golden, BC. They take pride in creating timeless recipes, incorporating crisp mountain water and carefully selected botanicals. It was important that the visual identity communicate the natural beauty and rich history that inspired the brand, drawing particular influence from the dramatic true story about a church bell that was stolen multiple times in the frontier days of British Columbia.
Solution
For the logo design, the “stolen bell” is elegantly cut into the negative space of the ‘S’ with railroad tracks providing a frame for this unique badge. The negative space bell is echoed in the retail bottle design where the entire bottle is frosted except for the shape of the bell, which is perfectly clear and shows through to a mountain scene printed on the inside of the bottle. The engraving style illustrations feel historic yet contemporary, lending richness and texture to the packaging design.
