Royal Bay Bakery

Royal Bay Bakery

CASE STUDY

 THE NEED

Royal Bay Bakery has been a neighbourhood institution since the 1970s, with a loyal following of local patrons. When Ashley and Brad Kiss bought the bakery in 2017, they knew they wanted a redesign but were anxious about ruffling feathers. The new logo design had to retain a feeling of history and tradition, appealing to old and new customers alike.

 THE SOLUTION

The arrangement of this logo design has a vintage aesthetic, while the overall simplicity and colour palette make it feel contemporary. The graphic icon is a visual pun that is both a crown and a stock of wheat. The title font is historical in feel yet playful in the swooping details. Deep royal blue, gold and grey stripes complete the visual identity.

For us the decision to work with Covet was one of the best we made for our newly acquired bakery. Rather than feeling like a chore, Britt made the branding process fun and inclusive. She listened wholeheartedly and I swear got right into my head to draw out my dream logo design. I was almost sad we could only choose one of the beautiful logo concepts we received, but in the end it’s the perfect fit.
